Originally built in 1616, Dorfold Hall is a magnificent brick and stone gabled, Grade I listed, Jacobean house nestled in the Cheshire landscape. Oozing old English charm at every corner, it’s a distinctive and fascinating country house to visit.
Beyond the beauty of the main Hall, the elegant garden holds several hidden surprises – such as a magnificent chestnut tree believed to be over a thousand years old, and the last legacy of the original Delamere Forest. There are numerous traditional borders, secluded dells and woodlands to explore, not to mention uninterrupted views extending over the English countryside from the South Lawns which are breath-taking in every season.

Disabled Access
Unfortunately, as a historic property, Dorfold was not designed with wheelchair users in mind.
The Hall has many stairs and the garden only a few paths. We do, however, have a disabled toilet outside the Hall by the Clocktower and Tack, as well as a route which will enable access to the South Lawns.
Please do call ahead on +44 (0) 1270 625 245 to discuss your specific requirements and whether we can safely accommodate your needs.
Dogs
We kindly ask you to leave the gardens as beautiful as you find them for the enjoyment of all.

HALL GUIDED TOURS & GARDEN ENTRY

This beautiful family home has been transformed over the last few years to enhance its historic attributes but also reflect the personality of the current owners.
The result are carefully curated interiors with contemporary touches. Your guide will talk you through the ancestral elements, amusing anecdotes and the future prospects of the estate.
The tours take place at 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm.
Gardens Only

The gardens hold a certain magic, they transcend time and all the many generations that have lived here.
Apart from the more traditional elements, including a Victorian Dell, there are walks to discover, a walled garden that has been redeveloped with new architectural structures to host weddings and events (this is also where you can enjoy tea, coffee and a piece of cake!) and many more changes afoot to help the estate in its transformation and renovation to help it continue to evolve and be more sustainable.
